On 16 December 2014, the “Current Preservation Issues of the Russian Federation Museum Fund” interregional workshop seminar opened at the Staraya Derevnya Restoration and Storage Center of the State Hermitage Museum.
Organized by the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation and Ecokultura LLC, the eventwas attended by employees of 66 museums located in the 5 regions of the Northwestern Federal District: Republic of Karelia, Leningrad, Pskov, Novgorod and Kaliningrad Regions.
The seminar was devoted to pressingissues of museum activityin the Russian Federation: the safe storage of cultural valuablesand the use of modern technology (fire control systems, burglar alarms, etc.); thedrafting of documents whentransferring museum piecesinto permanent and temporary use; the application of information technologies within the scope of fundadministration and conservation; and the legal and organizational aspects of museum activities under RF Federal Law № 44-FZ dated 5 April 2013 “On the contract system in the procurement of goods, works and services for state and municipal needs.”
